SEPI & ANDRE
Iranian Wedding in Santorini
One of the most rewarding experiences as a wedding photographer is meeting new people from around the world, people who give us the honor of participating in their joy and bliss. Living in Sweden but having Iranian roots, Sepideh and André’s Iranian wedding in Santorini took place at La Maltese and was traditional, stylish, emotional and most of all fun!
The beautiful bride Sepideh was glowing in her Ida Sjöstedt wedding gown whereas the groom made an excellent Benjamin Stockholm choice for his suit. Vangelis met the couple at Above Blue Suites, where they did the “Getting Ready” as well as “First Look” photos before they set off for their on-location photo session around Imerovigli village. As soon as they finished the photo session, the guests gathered to witness their traditional Iranian wedding ceremony at La Maltese, which is one of the most luxurious venues in Santorini.
Iran is a country with a rich culture and history, so the ceremony incorporated the Persian wedding traditions, such as the Sofreh Aghd. Vangelis, as a wedding photographer, enjoyed becoming a witness of the holy vows between two people bonding their lives, but mostly he was fascinated by how they all felt at home and enjoyed every single minute. As the sun went down, the party started. And it was one of the best Vangelis attended as a photographer (or guest!)
Dear Sepideh and André, may your journey be blessed and filled with happiness and have the photos of your wonderful Iranian wedding in Santorini to preserve your precious day for all the blissful years to follow!
